February 2002 Second Prize "Wanderins of a Cowgurl" Day in day out this cowgurl wanders all across the fields working Not looking, she smiles at anything furry. Says Howdo. Her heart aches for love... by a special someone, a wanderin' cowgurl can't afford to get close to anybody. She's lost everything and even her own family. She wanders working from one farm ranch or job to another. She wanders. Looking for Love. She finds love in furry friends ~ in simple things like a heart shaped rock after musing a prayer to the Creator. Or even a flower in the middle of a field of snow. She smiles. Smiles that are rare to come by for this cowgurl so she wanders still. Til one day, she stumbles onto a sleepin' farmer in a field takin' a short nap after puttin in a hard day of hayin. She smiles. Now, thats what love is. Doin' what you want. This farmer wakes up n' see's this cowgurl and smiles back. Howdy thar girl! What gives me the honor of your beautiful presence? This cowgurl smiles and says, oh I was just wanderin'. Tryin' to find love in simple pleasures and furry animals. This farmer says, Well ma'am ~ I can love you.
