Faery Butterfly Faery Tale

In the midst of the tall Alder trees, in a enchanted land, a small faery did dance and frolic about. Her name was Faery Butterfly.

Faeryland is a forest of grand, set by a river land, and in the midst of the trunks of those old tall trees of birch, is where this little wood faery lived.

She was smaller than most faeries, with wings that took on a purplish tint in the pale golden moonlight. She seldom left her forest haven, prefering instead to stay in her element and celebrate and frolic amidst the protective trees.

One starry pale moon night however, she decided to leave the protective woods she called home and venture out, to a garden she had visited before, not far from her wooded refuge. How pretty and scented the flower buds were. She danced and fluttered amidst the petals, enjoying the scents that surrounded her, her tiny magical wings fluttering about in happy glee.

Suddenly Faery Buttefly froze. A strange noise had arose. She spied a young woman, sitting amidst the fragrant garden, weeping in sadness. The little elfin faery ventured closer to this woman. Was this young woman trust worthy and true hearted? For only to them, can faeries be seen, for as you know faeries never reveal themshelves to mean spirited or hateful sorts.

Little Faery Butterfly watched the young woman for awhile and knew in her heart this human female was kind hearted and true and decided that to her she could let her presence be shown.

She fluttered closer and the girl jumped in surprise, as she had caught a glimspe of the wood faery, in the corner of her eye. Be not frighten said Faery Butterfly in the tiniest of voice, be not afraid, for I will not harm you, or you I today, for I sense that you are a true sister of the golden moon.

The young woman rubbed the tears from her eyes, and looked little Faery Butterfly square in the eye. Are you a faery, the young woman asked. Why yes I am replied Faery Butterfly with a glint in her eye. The girl seemed in awe. I have heard of your kind in fairy tales, but only till now have I ever believed that such a tiny, beautiful creature such as you could truly exist.

Faery Butterfly smiled. Would you like to come with me to my home in Faeryland, she asked the girl, and leave your cares behind? Oh yes! Said the young woman. How delightful that would be! So Faery Butterfly whisked her away, and soon they were safely back in the enchanted land of Faeryland.

The young woman wrote the following poem, when she return to her home, about her visit to the enchanted Faeryland, of course no one would believe her tale, but she knows in her heart that it is true and she has a friend for life, with the little magical faery named Faery Butterfly, who had come to her that one midsummers night and taught her how to dance her cares away.

I dance among the alder trees
the waters edge just feet from me
In the beginning I watch the wood faeries come and go
and disappear into the trunks of the birch
possibly too afraid to get too close to me
there is only one at first
who comes closer and dances with me
she is the one who brought me here
her name is Faery Butterfly
and she is the sweetest faery I know
soon the other faeries join in
their wings fluttering about
glowing bright in the pale golden moonlight
the wind rustles the leaves
of the tall trees surrounding us
which sounded like music
in rhythm with our moves
Softly I hear a whistling sound
which makes a sweet tune as well
and into the night we danced and swayed
almost to daybreak
much to soon I am left to dance alone
as back at home I did return
I know not how
but I know in my heart
I will never be truly alone
for whenever I close my eyes
I am once again amidst the swaying of the trees
with sweet Faery Butterfly beside me
here I can dance and dream
and set my spirit free
anytime cares and worries overtake me
Here I can be true to my heart...
here I can be just like a tree swaying in the wind
strong and tall with no cares at all
No matter where I roam
I can close my eyes and be in that enchanted land of Faeryland
the alder trees and the little wood faeries
always swaying with me...
